Naples is a city of intense flavors, history, and stunning views, but its layout can be challenging.
A hop-on hop-off bus ticket connects the grand seaside promenades with the fascinating, chaotic historic center and the panoramic hills of Capodimonte and Posillipo.
It’s the easiest way to bridge the gap between a morning espresso by the sea and an afternoon surrounded by Caravaggio masterpieces..
Buses typically run from roughly 09:30 to 17:00, with departures every 20–45 minutes depending on the season and the specific line (Line A for Art spots, Line B for the Bay view).
Service operates year‑round, though schedules are often reduced in winter. Route diversions may occur during major local festivals or processions, like the Feast of San Gennaro.
Naples, Italy – Piazza Municipio, Lungomare & Historic Center
The main hub is usually near Castel Nuovo (Maschio Angioino) at Piazza Municipio, a central point easily reached from the cruise port and main shopping streets. However, you can join at any designated stop along the varied routes.
From Napoli Centrale (Garibaldi) station, take Metro Line 1 to 'Municipio'. It’s a modern, art-filled station that exits right near the main bus terminus and the ferry port. Alternatively, catch a taxi or walk down Corso Umberto I if you prefer a lively stroll.
Driving in central Naples is famous for being… adventurous. It is widely recommended to park your car in a secure garage near the port or on the outskirts and switch to the bus or metro. The ZTL (Limited Traffic Zones) are active and strictly enforced.
Local ANM buses and the Alibus shuttle from the airport connect to Piazza Garibaldi and Piazza Municipio. Once you are in the city center, the hop-on hop-off bus is far more relaxing for sightseeing than navigating local public transport maps.
If you are staying near Piazza del Plebiscito, the Spanish Quarter, or the Port, the main terminus at Largo Castello / Piazza Municipio is a short, scenic walk. Look for the red double-decker buses lined up near the castle.
Skip the stress of navigating Naples' traffic, enjoy the breeze on the coastal road to Posillipo, and easily reach hilltop museums like Capodimonte that are otherwise a trek to get to.
Start your journey in the shadow of the mighty Maschio Angioino castle. From here, you’re steps away from the Royal Palace, the San Carlo Opera House, and the gateway to the winding streets of the Spanish Quarter.
Board Line A to climb the hill to the Royal Museum of Capodimonte, home to masterpieces by Caravaggio and Titian. Nearby, delve underground into the ancient, mystic Catacombs of San Gennaro.
Take Line B for the postcard-perfect Naples. Glide along the seafront promenade (Lungomare), past the Castel dell'Ovo, and wind up the Posillipo hill for that classic panoramic shot of the volcano looming over the blue bay.

Valid for 24 hours (or more), giving you freedom to explore leisurely.
Switch between the Art and Bay routes as often as you like with a single ticket.
